I Need A Doctor; My Love for The Dr. and Eminem.

When I saw that this possible pairing had dropped a song together for the much anticipated album, Detox...I was hoping to be enthralled.

And I was.

First off, how many true Eminem fans do we have out there?  I adore that piece of vanilla yummy cupcake and no, it's not why my Russia has an amazing resemblance to him, either.

I will admit that he can be hard to handle as an adult.  There were numerous times when as a parent of many small children, I would have to turn it off the radio in fear of my 4 year old son repeating the lyrics to his Pre-School teacher.  But like many other artists, Em got me through some really bad times in my life.

I understand what he says and why he does what he does.

I am also extremely proud of his most recent album, Recovery.  It is a work of art.  He should be covered with accolades.  It is so nice to have the talented Marshall Mathers back.

And he's super sexy, too.  Did I mention that???

Oh, yeah..the track...with Dre.  Dre and I got mad history, yo.

It's poetry.  Simple, yet stated and the voice of Skylar Grey compliments the hardness of the lyrics.  British Hip Hop Producer, Alex Da Kid showcases his talent in such a way, that it leaves me breathless.  You can feel the heart beat in the music.  I love how someone like Travis Barker could easily play the drums for this, should there be a concert tour in the immediate future...like this summer, please?  Dre, Eminem, AND Travis...I'd be in heaven.

If this is any indication of the quality of this album, then watch out world.

Forget about Dre'??...Get me THE DR.

This is Home Girl and I'm gonna go stare at Russia for a while.

Welcome; Waka Flocka Love

Welcome to the inaugural post of Music Home Girl Likes where I will always guarantee to keep you guessing...

I have various likes and dislikes in music.  I tend to get rather vocal about it, too.  This blog will give me an outlet to explore this creative genre more in depth.

Waka Flocka Flame came onto the hip hop scene in 2009 with his breakout hit, "O' Lets Do It".  Waka (named after the Muppet's Fozzie Bear who said, Waka Waka) raps in a crunk, gangsta, dirty South style, rep'n the ATL where he spent some of his youth and young adulthood.  He had previously lived in the Queens Borough of New York City.

Waka Flocka Flame's most recent album, Flackaveli came out in October, 2010 and has enjoyed much air time on East Coast play lists both in the club scene and on the air waves.

My Opinion:  This track, like others has some pretty remarkable language, but with that aside...I love the beats.

"Girl the way ya moving...got me in a trance.  Dj turn this up...baby, it's yo jam" has had me moving on more than one occasion.  I like to blast this and get in the mood to clean the house.  It will be interesting to see what remixers and DJ's alike will be able to do with future tracks...especially mash ups.

I like an artist who doesn't sound like anyone else, and Waka Flocka Flame fits that bill.

This is Home Girl and I want to know what you think??
